Help! I'm getting my seats upholstered, which means I finally need to get a tonneau made too.

I don't want a heavy viynl tonneau, simply because I don't have the boot space to store it when not in use. Some time ago I tracked down a guy making trailer covers who sold a very light material that (I think) he called "SW10".

Either I'm looking for someone who recognises this part number, or I'm looking for a decent light weight material. Can anyone help?

Could you not use a proofed rip stop nylon (tentage)

I could, but it doesn't stretch well. It also ages horribly in UV. The average nylon tent flysheet has a lifespan of 8 weeks exposure to UV.

I bought a roll of black PVC stuff from a kit car company and made a tonneau for my car. It doesn't leak, although it does absorb a lot of water if left in a heavy shower and needs to be dried out after.

Found it, the material was called SW10, it's a PU coated polyimide and it comes from Thoroughbred covers of Leeds.

Many thanks for all the suggestions.

Do you remember the "Pak a Mac"
Ligh, small, packs away to a pocket sized bundle.
You could zip 4 together, stitch 3 neck and arm holes up but leaver the one over the driver open, you could then drive with your head and arms out but stay warm a d dry.
Just a thought.......
