hi i know its ambitious but do you think its possible to build a set of carbon fibre wingstays for my rear wing on the global. The ones that are currently fitted are made of grp with a plywood center. My line of thinking is that if carbon fibre is strong than grp I would need less therefore it may not need a plywood center. So hopefully it could even be a weight savings.Any ideas of companys to speek to about this project i have a reasonable budget i think

Pictures would be a good.
It may then be possible to see if they could be moulded hollow.

If you can get them made hollow then you can always fill them with expanded foam (similar to that used by builders oro for car seats) to give them a bit more rigidity without adding too much weight. Also, unless you need the carbon look on the outside consider getting them made in woven grp rather than chop strand with the weave rotated in different layers (say 3 layers 0 deg, 30 deg, 60 deg). This may be almost as stong as CF but significantly cheaper.

East Coast Fibreglass carry 8mm Carbon Fibre tube as standard.

Is that any use?
