I saw this on ebay and just had to share IT:

"The donor car was a Jaguar XJ6" except for the fact that "a lot of the running gear has now been changed to Ford (for ease of replacement)"
"The front setup appears to be Cortina mk4 and the rear axle is a Capri 2.8 setup."
And the Jaguar straight six was no doubt swapped for the Rover V8 for reliability, and the body modified to look just like a JPR Wildcat.
Can anyone suggest which parts did come from the XJ6 donor?

"The Challenger was a fibreglass kit car based on the moulds from a series one e type built on a space frame chassis. This particular one is an early example (1980/1981) which you can tell from the slightly flared arches to accommodate the wider rear axle."

Jaguar Cars gave their approval for the project, but the original kit was designed to take Ford or Rover running gear, which necessitated flaring of the rear wheel arches.
so besides the V5c this car never came in contact with any major jaguar parts!!!!
later cars did feature jag- components...but not THIS car at ebay!!
surplus...as its NOT a re-body on an existing chassis, the registration as Jag isnt worth a penny...its in-correctly registered....its a ringer!!!!

As I understand it there was a bit of discretion when the new rules came in too allow correct registraton. That time has long passed. It will need IVA.Having "Jaguar" on the logbook is possible, my friend actually got the DVLA inspector to put "Jaguar e-type" on his logbook legitimately in 1988, at the same time as his friend got "Cobra" on his replica, those were the days.... However "XJ6" screams to me it has been nowhere near the DVLA database or inspected... "jaguar sports" or similar usually means it has been looked at and legit, XJ6 probobly not.
