Hello

I am in the market for either a 2nd hand Caterham or Westfield and will be a joint ownership with my Dad. We went to Caterham on Saturday and my Dad can only fit in a wide body with a lowered floor as he is 6ft3.

We were wondering if there are any Westfield SEIW owner in the Oxford area who wouldn’t mind us coming to have a quick look at their car and see if my Dad can fit in it?

Just out of interest what would most people choose? 140 BHP Roadsport SV K series or a Duratec Westfield?

We will be using the car for mainly road use with a couple of trackdays a year.

Thanks
Andy

i am 6ft4 and can fit in a standard Caterham ok but head height is an issue for rollbar clearance. Typically people get foam seats made in this situation as tilletts arent usually able to go back far enough and get you lowered enough - unless you tilt seat so it leans back but then its not as safe (given how it fixes to floor).

Duratec every time. I went to Caterham and fell in love with a couple of cars but ended up with a westfield, as my budget didn't stretch and I hadn't realised what I could get for the money. My engine is actually out of a R400 caterham from a member on here who upgraded to a 2.3 haven't regretted my choice ever. The WSCC is excellent too.

I have a Caterham and I love it, but you'll get more power for your money with a Westfield and there are a lot more wide Seis out there.
I know a chap who's been looking for an SV Caterham for a couple of years and unless you're ready to pay top price for a K series car there aren't many available.
