following on from my Throttle bodies thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I would like to get a larger fuel tank to replace the 25ltr one I have, and running twin 45's on my blacktop Zetec only gives me 120-140 mile range

I am removing the rear tub to spray it and at the same time would like a larger tank that I can get a swirl pot added to.

Any suggestions, anyone done this to a tiger supercat? it has been suggested 8-9 gallons is a good size

If going down the custom route then Pro-alloy are the best option.

Owned and run by a good friend of mine you will struggle to find better , the craftsmanship is fantastic and they are very accommodating in helping you get what you want.

from old thread both come recommended. The only worry I have is not being able to talk o them face to face and show them what I want. more me worrying than anything

I know I just need to give sized, what I want etc... will make sure I measure twice ...... ebfore sending off requirements. they both are a bit far from Bristol to say hi to

Understand your worries, I remember my pal saying that over 80% of the work they do, they never meet the customer, all done over the phone, web or FaceTime/Skype.

They ship all over the world so must be doing something right.

Give them a call, ask for Alex, he is the " fuel tank" specialist.

Spoke to Alex this afternoon. nice chap and gave me lots of info I would need. Answered the question I wanted to know and seems a very good price for a Custom tank. An Approx price for what I'm looking for

Good stuff, happy to help.

I've a custom pro-alloy rad and oil cooler on my striker, and the build quality is second to none, I grew up with Alex, and in fact now live next door to his mum.

If you decide to do business within, I'm sure you won't be disappointed .

I've recently ordered/recieved a tank from Pro Alloy.
At first I thought the price was a tad expensive but once I checked with others and added all the bits together they were very competative in price. Being that they are miles away from me I sent photos, drawing details and when I needed a fuel funnel inlet made up I sent it to them as a guide.
Felt like christmas unboxing the new tank, cant fault the service at all, very happy :-)

Another recommendation for Pro Alloy. They modified my Westfield tank to add a swirl pot and breather.

They did it while I waited, supplied the coffee and it only cost ~£75, which was less than I spent on an external swirl pot and plumbing when I first fitted the injection. Absolute bargain.

I dealt Alex as well, top bloke.
