Just loaded some video from a recent Euro trip to you-tube. It's from MtVentoux, south of France.

It's 2-up as we'd arrived at the campsite, unpacked, then went out again; One of the guys left his car behind and came with me (never been in a bike engined car before). The camera is mounted on the front of the bonnet and just by the grill. The low view point also means it picks up the induction roar from the air intakes... TURN UP THE VOLUME!

Who says you can't tour in a BEC?

The camera is a Contour GPS. It's not set at full resolution there (to save memory) but does do full HD @60fps. They're known to suffer from wind noise (look for my video cycling down the Col du Galibier, you'll hear it). I've made a simple bit of carpet (off-cut from the car build)to sit over the mic', held in place with a rubber band (piece of bike inner tube actually) and that's cured it.

BECs swill never catch on Adi, way too noisy and surpised you didn't break the gearbox driving to the alps and backlaugh

Finally started stripping mine down to bare chassis, booked in with rollcage bloke so should be ready for next years Alps trip. Possibly.

Nice video, quality looks good considering it wasn't on the top setting, no camera shake either and the carpet trick over the mic worked well. How did you mount it to the car? Any photos?

Your car sounds nice too!

It's on a suction mount (tethered to the grill for safety). Just about visible in this picture...

A suction cup mount is so simple to fit and remove too, happy days, thanks for the reply.

If either of you bottle out next year, that'll be 3 strikes each.

Ventoux Part 2 is now up-loaded. It's the decent so doesn't sound as good as more is on over-run but there's more squeeling tyres...
