Hi all,

I'm having a car built for me by a given company, which particular one doesn't really matter. Various soft deadlines have wafted past, communication is not quite what I would have hoped, and I am beginning to wonder if said company is beginning to take the mick and might need a big of a poke.

In particular, they ate claiming to have applied for IVA around 1st June, but are yet to recieve a date. Appreciate this may vary by test centre, but do any PHers know if this sort of time frame is par for the course (it seems like quite a while to not even have a date yet) or perhaps a sign that something may be awry?

Thanks in advance

It's not unheard of, although getting towards the long side of things.

I passed IVA on the second attempt 2 weeks ago.

My timeline was approx. 1 week from sending the application to getting a call to pay for it.

3 weeks delay for the paperwork to be processed by the DVLA and passed to the local test centre.

3 days for the test centre to call and arrange apt.

2 weeks from call to test.

2 weeks from fail to pass.

4 days from pass to reg & tax from local DVLA office.

Sounds a long time from 1st June.

I have found the timing to be extremely varied, from a few days to many weeks.

Thanks for the info guys - looks like company needs a prod to chase the DVLA a bit harder.

Thanks again,

Are you sure they have sent the paperwork in?

Not DVLA, VOSA.

Far to long a wait to be believable.
2 weeks for the paperwork to be processed.
Couple of days for it to arrive at the test station.
Couple of days for them to contact you and offer a test date.
That date may be 2-3 weeks forward.

Contacted my local station today to book a couple of retests....Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
