as per the title, if you had the choice which would you go for and which manufacturer for an as near as damn it exact replica of either both bodily and mechanically..

Aluminium bodied AC cobra
or
aluminium bodied C type Jaguar

Any other reasons for your preference?

Cobras are two a penny. If I was going to the trouble of doing an ali replica it would be the Jag for sure. Any Jag in fact

Ally bodied XK13 for me. There is recent thread on this on here that identifies a company that does these (Realm IIRC).

The Jag would look good beside the Ultima in the garage. Choice of roof or open then......

nice thought Paul, but having gone through the majority of my lifeowning usually around 6 to 10 cars or bikes at the same time I have made the decision to attempt to stick to just one vehicle. (please no one ever bring up the fact that I said this,if I end up going back on it!) So its really either or. After a quick drive in the Ultima yesterday I think if the GTR doesnt sell quite quickly then I will just end up keeping it , especially if i end up fitting a set of headlights.... I think....confused

What is wrong with having a selection of cars???

I have a few plus one I need to get on and build.

The obvious answer here is; which do you lust after, Cobra or Jaguar ? As I suffer from Obsessive Cobra Disorder (incurable) I've ordered for a Cobra 427s/c from DB Replicas. About as authentic to the '65 original as you could want, and of course there are many good glassfibre replicas around now (Shelby themselves offer the choice of fibreglass or alluminum); but if you want that originality you decide. Some very nice replica C and D Type cars around too of course. If you like both Jag and Cobra, buy both ! Seems alluminum is the common denominator ? The drive will be completely different of course, and the soundtrack. Dream stable would likely be four or five interesting cars for most on these forums I guess ?

KIRKHAM 427SC lick
A step up in build Quality from the Ultima (dons flame suit) but you wouldn't want it to get wet (at all)
Just beautiful IMO

New DB 427s/c better value than Kirkham, and just as good. Described on that site as 'Sovereign Design.' On a Kirkham, you pay EXTRA for the correct suspension.. !? Even the fibreglass Cobra replicas are creeping up in price. The body shape on some of those is inaccurate. Correct proportions, authentic chassis are the reasons I've gone for the new DB car.. AND the alluminum body. But hey, each to his own !
