I'm finally getting around to completing my build (stalled for 6 years, restarted now that the wedding's out of the way) and am pricing up a change in plan from Carbs to Throttle Bodies.

I can see 3 options: 1) SBD Taper Bodies, 2) SBD Multi Throttle 3) QED DTH Kit.

The QED kit looks similar to teh SBD multi throttle, just with a direct-to-head fitment rather than using the DCOE manifold for SBD. However there's quite a price difference between them (£300) and I can't quite work out what the extra £££s go on with the SBD.

SBD's website quotes 196 bhp from a standard engine using their kit, QED have told me 170bhp would the be output from theirs.

Do and Ph'ers have experience of both? Is there really a 26 bhp difference between two apparently similar kits (neither includes new cams)?

If the output is similar, then the only benefit I can see with the SBD kit is that my cooling setup won't need changing as I currenly have the SBD manifold as part of my cooling circuit, and their locality as they're round the corner from me.

Cheers,

DC
