Hi guys I am looking at a couple of cobras for sale and was wondering if anybody knew the previous owners. One is with sovereign it is a 2011 Ak with A 350 Chevy quote's near 400 bhp? I am not totally genned up on Chevy's but understand that they start at about 200bhp so without driving it how would you know. The other is at Hallmark and is a 2011 Dax with a ls3 engine with dyno printout.I would appreciate any comments on the cars and the companies if anybody has had dealings with them, cheers.

Health warning - I am not a guru on cobras and do not know either of the cars but have a couple of general observations -

Assuming we are talking about the light blue DAX from halmark with the hard top and the dark blue AK at sovereign.

The AK is a great looking car in a classic dark blue / magnolia leather colour scheme and the engine bay is very period. It is almost new by the looks of it. 400hp chevy 350 is tuned but not stupidly so and will give a pretty good rumble. Big carb on top may be a bit juicy on petrol.

The Dax has all of the best bits and is much more modern in hardware terms - LS3 is a modern engine with injection (probably better economy) and at 480hp is not stressed and look like a standard tune up from Mast (GD are a supplier of these engines I think)(430hp out of the box), more modern 6 speed gear box, the camber compensation system on the front suspension is a great addition and unique to the dax and will add value. Only downside is the under bonnet wow factor is missing with the more modern engine.

Although I like the look of the AK I would go with the Dax. The best way to make your mind up is to test drive both and see whether you like the authentic feel of the AK or the more refined Dax (I am assuming this to be so). Whilst at Hallmark I would be tempted to drive the LS3 and also the 383 stroker dax back to back to see how they feel - similar power but different engines and different chassis, they also have a couple of AK for comparison as well. Well worth a trip.

If it is the hard top that you are interested in these can be sources separately and painted to suit your car for a couple of £k if you find a drop top car you like.

This might also be worth adding to your short list - http://www.gdcars.com/green-gd-427-mk3-45k/

Hope this helps and i wish I had your dilemma :-)
