BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit

just came across this, BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit (its not painted yet)

me thinks it looks (or can look) very good (this one is not completely ready yet, paint etc)


they already made it better I saw, see new pictures, way better>>













put some classic style steering wheel in it and some wooden shift knob and maybe some classic sportseats
and you have a nice classic style looking car based on a reliable Z3 roadster.

I like that, and a Z3 is a better base for a kit car than the myriad of Sierra/beetle/metro bases

The windscreen and back windo look weird, but I do think it looks better than a standard Z3.

With BMW roundels front and rear, that could look like smart. Just avoid sticking the prancing horse badges on...

It looks good because the 250 SWB is one of the best looking cars ever made.

Can't help think it would be a bit of a disappointment once you started it up though.

It looks nothing like the Ferrari except for a few styling cues but I still think it's a nice looking car. As someone said above, stick BMW badges rather than the Ferrari ones on it and I think it'd be quite nice.

As someone said, bin the idea of trying to be a SWB replica and look at it on its own merits. I think it looks rather lovely and is a smart way to do something interesting with a Z3.

I think the key is to not paint it red or put any Ferrari style badges on it and you've got something rather fun for not a lot and based on a car that drives and goes pretty well.

From what I've read, it probably drives better than an original though if you want the "looks"

I like it - but not as a Ferrari rep, just a smart looking car. Reminds me a little of the Wiesmann cars.

I agree with you. Looks quite smart and as said, with BMW markings would be something different.

Better than the MX5 body kit.

How much is a 2.8 Z3 now?

I think with the windscreen rake it might be a bit more successful as a Daytona tribute, though the Z3's indulgent hips might then become a problem.

Build that (250) on top of a Z3M and you'd have a decent looking, fun little rocket.
