I am a frequent browser of ebay and appreciate many of the interesting projects on offer. This one looks particularly challenging: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Kit-Cars-/29750/i.html?_...

The car is an old Bonito on a tubular chassis with GT40 front and rear clam shells. It seems unlikely that any of these parts fit each other, and even more unlikely that it can possibly be correctly registered. One cannot dismiss the ingenuity, and it may eventually be a lot of fun for someone.

I was being polite when I made my comment....some specifics I spotted on a quick look that would need sorting: Bent wishbones visible in at least one photo (easy enough), suspension loads feeding into chassis in single shear in numerous places (maybe easy, maybe not, depends on if there is space to put some structure), possibly related at the front, evidence of a crossmember having been cut out and removed, rusty looking floorpan (cold be a large can of worms right there...), ugly looking geometry on steering shaft couplers (hard to sort that one). Not overly impressed with the look of the chassis TBH, but that's not very scientific, it might have reasonable stiffness, although given it was probably intended for Beetle power, perhaps not so much?

As noted, could be an interesting project, but eyes WIDE open on the way in! Caveat Emptor was invented for this. Be nice to see someone take it on and make a good job of it though.

Looks a little neglected - prefer a little more triangulation too.
Wouldn't mind making a kit out of the Audi R8 bodywork lower down the page. . . though with my ability it'd be more safer (& cheaper) to buy a second-hand R8.

Realistically what you're buying there is the bodywork and a shortcut around the IVA I reckon.

That's got the original Bonito bodywork and, I'd guess, is worth a lot less.

I think it's actually a Seraph (Ford based) rather than a Bonito (Beetle based). It could look like this when finished.
