am i correct in asuming that if i use an unaltered classic beetle floor pan, and mount whatever body etc on it i can use the original registration, and therefore dont need iva. geof

That's my understanding as long as you don't modify the chassis in any way.

I think it's also true that you will need to apply to DVLA for a change of name and/or style, provide some photographic evidence as it's no longer a beetle.
