A new Morris Minor van chassis is about £1300.

A rotten donor car can be £500.

Running gear stuff like springs and dampers and bushes is easily available and comedy cheap.

The body would be much like an Elva Courier, no opening doors and no opening boot

Re-use Morris loom, clocks, seats etc

Super light. Super simple. Classic looks.

A retroride like one of these cars would fit the Morris Minor chassis :

have a search for Sammio and Ribble to see what they have done with herald/spitfire/scimitar chassis.

So do you think a new chassis will mean you don't have to put the car through I|VA? Is that your plan, 'cos if so I think you're wrong. Sure, the chassis not been "modified", but it's been replaced and IMHO that can't be compliant.

Like a lot of things kitcar, it's all OK until it goes wrong then the world and his brother (read VOSA, DVLA and insurance co's) will be down on you like a ton of bricks. All IMHO of course

No, not my plan at all, was just musing about a route to a car I thought of.

I think I would prefer to have a restored MM Van.

You can replace the chassis.
