I've been following this for months now - I expect most have you have heard about it. A guy called Dennis Palotov [sp?] is has designed his own 4wd track day bike engined car with carbon bodywork, and you can follow his progress from initial sketches to current stuff at www.dpcars.net
Sorry if this has been posted dozens of times, but if you havent seen the site before, go and have a look!

Not only do I like the car's styling, but the whole site is great! Thanks for that link.
One thing that intrigues me mind - why the chain drive? Surely they won't be as reliable as good drive/prop shafts?

it's a bike engine isn't it. Dufus

I think it looks fantastic ! I'd consider buying one but I suspect the price will be pretty high, if it was ever offered as a kit.
The XTR/GT1/Radical style cars are great looking - I asked Dax if they would consider creating a similar body for their Rush after a discussion on the Rush mail list showed at least 6 or 7 people would buy one (not bad for response within a few hours), but they said no. I'd happily pay £5k for a gel coat finish GT body, even if it did require brackets welding on to hold it.

If you look in depth on one of the more recent development pages a guy off a design forum suggested some improvements, which was interesting; talking about emotional design and so on. I just found it really refreshing to find a bloke who was prepared to put in so much effort to get things perfect, not just 'alright'.

A chain drive is actually pretty efficient, losses are very low and servicing is cheap, assuming standard parts can be used. The Hayabusa turbo bikes use a different chain from standard but they cope with 400bhp quite happily if a constant oiling system is used. If they run dry they overheat and snap very quickly.
