Buying my first kit car

I am currently looking to buy my first kit car. I am looking for a lotus 7 style car. Sadly I am a poor student and am on a very tight budget. I am planning on using a single sierra donor or possibly a rover V8. Does anyone have any suggestions for an exremely cheap kit which would be suitable for myself. Also could anyone give me a very rough idea of how much insurance a would be expecting to pay. I have 1 years no claim bonus and am 18. Cheers, Stuart.

Have a look at another recent thread, chap asked exactly the same question.

The cheapest V8 kit might be the Luego but almost all the currently available kits will take a Pinto/X-Flow or Zetec, all very cheaply available.
