Discussion
Six page "impressions" and Road Test in the new June issue......
Not making any comment, just buy a copy a read it for yourself.......
Let's just see if we can for once, have a sensible Python thread on this forum, with no hidden agendas, without it being locked by a moderator........

Sadly I think we know what this will lead to...
Think the best thing all round would be for Circuit Driver editor Steve Bennett to test the Python as one of his fake snake reviews for totalkitcar magazine.
As Steve has never been involved in the 'Python wars' and has no involvement (as far as I know) with any of those who have, I think that could be the best chance of getting a review that couldn't be accused of bias.

or even I review by yourself Graham for PH.
As I have been involved in the debate on PH (though attempted to stay neutral) it really would be better done by someone who hasn't.
That way hopefully all sides can accept the report will be written fairly and objectively by someone with no axe to grind one way or the other.
I'll have a word with Steve Hole about it.

I personnelly would trust your opinion to be genuinelly objective over others that havn't been involved in the debate here.

Thanks for that Andy, but having been accused of taking every opportunity to stab Den Tanner in the back following my Monday posting on the kitcar industry outlook thread, I really do think it would be best left to somebody else.
OK, here's a SELECTED snapshot of what WKC? had to say about it.......
For...
"RV Dynamics claims it is possible to complete a car for as little as £10,000! Even if that were to rise to £12,000 or £14,000, it still represents excellent value"
"It is worth noting the quality of the fibreglass bodywork"
"There's certainly nothing wrong with the look of the Python. It's a typically sexy beast in a way that only a testostorone-fuelled Cobra replica can be"
Against...
"Elsewhere, I find the driving position a little short"
"The steering wheel is mounted on a ludicrously short boss"
"Push on through the bends and the handling could also be improved"
"The wing mirrors are next to useless"
Overall verdict:-
"First demonstrator shows plenty of promise, but needs minor tweaks to realise it's true potential. BMW underpinnings remain hugely appealing, both in terms of cost and quality"

Reading a previous thread this could be translated into:
It's possible to build it for £10k, but if you want it to have that certain 'bling' then be prepared to spend more.
Fibreglass is good quality
It looks like all the other Cobra's
Not suitable for anyone over 5'6"
I can't get my hands around the wheel properly, without my knuckles scraping on the dash.
I needs setting up properly or you'll end up in the hedge.
Lucky it's quick 'cause like most Cobra's you can see bu**er all behind you.
The idea is great, but like so many kits introduced, it still isn't finished.
Disclaimer:- I would like to point out to everyone that this is not a swipe at Vince, the Python or anyone connected to the project. I have seen the car in the flesh and gone as far as to sit in it, but I do not have any real opinion on how good or bad the car may be. Personally, I do not like Cobra's in general. And I do wish the car all the success it deserves.
This was more a comment about how reviews are worded (or should that be twisted) to show all cars in good light.

The problem is "Who is truely independent"?
Even Steve Hole has a magazine to run which gets its revenue from advertisers, and RVD may or could be a future advertiser.(Just a thought, and this is not intended to offend anyone)
All differences of opinion aside, the Python just needs time to slot its self in to the UK Cobra market.
Rushing things through via the Internet will all be just guessing games until there are a small/large army of Python owners with their own opinions on what they have assembled.
Disclaimer.
This post is in no way intended or implies that the Python is any better or worse than any other kit car. So before anyone gets on their high horse....DON'T

Not quite chaps. It actually says "the steering wheel is mounted on a ludicrously LONG boss"
Cheers,
Adam.
