You'll be actively used to promote Richard Oakes' Blackjack Zero! :)

How?

Below is the link to all the selected pictures which will be used on the http://www.blackjackzero.com next week or so.
Have a look and try to find where you're hiding!

For the others, the Zero will make it's VW show debut this weekend at Run To The Sun in Newquay. For those in the area, come and say hi to Richard and go for a drive!

Ferg, Tom and Italo,

Have a (or more) beer on us at the next show! Since this photoshoot was pretty succesfull greatness is on our side and we'll like to discuss a moviecareer in the future! Only kidding... (not about the beer).

Thank you all for the kind comments! I hope it will be a succes 'cause I know how much effort Richard has put in it. It's fenomenal!

I've ordered mine last week. First batch of cars (kits) is currently under production.

Cheers,
Bart

Officially NOT...

Difficult really...
Over the years Richard has become one of only a few REAL close friends. We moved GP to Helston because we could be next-door. I was there when we were picking eachothers brains about how to go further with the Avion. He was there whilst I was building RSKs. We talk about aircooled VW stuff, hot-rods and car design...

I made buckets of tea for Richard whilst he was doing something creative. He was out of the VW scene so I re-introduced him to stuff. I have my contacts and knowledge. He helps me out when I'm stuck somewhere with a car. It goes back for years.

I've been part of the devellopment of the Avion, and I've seen the ZERO grow before it was even on paper.

When I'm in Belgium I speak to him often. At least every week. Most of the times 2 or 3 times a week.

I like to think that our silver GP Spyders with red interior and a serious VW engine is not a coincidence.

He's a good pal. I'm proud being his friend!

Hope this answers it more or less...

Thought I was going mad there for a minute as I couldn't see any photos of our resident designer, must have looked at the page 6 times till I noticed the arrow buttons. doh! wouldn't think I spend half my life on the internet!!

Just realised as well that I havn't got the Zero listed on Madabout, would it be ok to use one of those photos Bart?

Cheers, John

Italo,

Richard is currenly making his second set of 5 full kits if I'm correct. So that'll be 10 units when they're all done. And they're all sold. Which is pretty good for such a small company including devellopment etc. Still working on some interesting evolutions too... I say no more... The past year still has been a lot of prototyping and preparing tooling for series production of the different kit packages (like wiring loom, suspension kits, bespoke hubs etc). Customers have patiently waited while all this took time to devellop. We'll see a few new builds soon I guess.

The Zero will normally be at Stoneleigh, hopefully the new demo will be ready by then. That's the plan 'cause the other one is sold.

What happened to your RSKs?

Are you still making them? If not who is?

No. Haven't made them for a few years now. I ran into health issues back then causing me to move back to Belgium so the project to hit the back burner. Still left it at that. To be honest, I don't like to think back to those days a lot. Too few happy thoughts (health issues). Meanwhile someone apparently -people told me but I've never seen it- used my set of moulds (which were still at the GRP people when I left for Belgium) to produce more kits and what can I do about it. For the moment I can't be arsed to chase them up. It's just not worth the stress IMHO. BTW, someone buying a new GP Spyder kit these days should thread carefully. When I stopped making them, it was time for a complete and long overdue redesign - you know with SVA and all that.
