Help Big V8 Needed any advice info ???????

hi im looking to build a cobra kit want a big v8 for it prefer a yankie lump
anyone know a good place to source one? american breakers etc? would like to have a go of a re build myself to any good books?

You could go Ford which is more in keeping with the Cobra image. Good strong & reliable. I do not know heaps about them.

Or, go Chevy small block/big block. Millions & millions built. Plenty about and cheap to buy. I built up my own and found David Vizard a very good reference. "How To Rebuild Your Small Block Chevy" is a good starting point. Keep an eye on ebay. Engines come up on there quite often. Also the classifieds on here.

dependant on your budget and power requirements, have a look at the swap meet section of Eurodragster..

You'll find quite a few rather nice engines on there, ranging from blown alky burners (not exactly suitable for road use ) all the way through to relatively stock V8's...
