windscreen support

just getting round to fitting the windscreen on my Haldane 100, got the frame ready, supports solid at each end but a lot of screen movement when bolted together however i've worked out that the two small holes in the top and bottom chrome rails must be for some sort of support like MG midgets etc,but has anyone done this and had problems with the scuttle not being as solid as maybe a steel one?
