Hi,

Im currently building a Sylva Mojo, getting to the stage where im thinking of spraying the car. I am after peoples advice on good and not so good experiences.

I am going to be spraying it a Metalic Gun metal so am expecting it to cost a bit. How much do you think would be a reasonable amount?

I live oxford area but would be prepared to travel if needs be for a decent job.

Any advice would be welcome

Currently building my Rush with him so he know kit cars. Used him to do my other cars as well.

I've been recommended Ewelme Coachworks in this area - they apparently do a lot of TVR work which therefore gives them good fibreglass experience.

A large portion of the cost of a paint job is in prep work.

So it depends greatly on how much time the painter thinks he's going to spend sanding and bondoing, any painter who'll give you a quote without looking at the body is probably best avoided.

You may be able to do some of the prep work yourself to keep the cost down.

Thanks for the replys.

I was going to do as much prep work myself then leave it up to the profesionals if more rubbing down is required. I will certanly be making contact with both companies that have been put forward.

Cheers

They're up in Rushden (Northampton way), and do a good spray job. Nice guys as well - depends how far it is for you to travel up there though.
