Tracking Down a Dutton

Hi all, hoping someone might be able to help. I’m trying to track down my Dad’s Dutton Phaeton. He built in 1982ish from a Ford Cortina 1600E and maybe a few triumph bits as well. He lived in Arbroath in Scotland when he built it. For a while it was my mum and dad’s only car and they traded it in for a Daihatsu Fourtrak when they were starting a family. The garage they traded it in at blew the engine up, I think they were Dundee based. Apparently someone in Edinburgh owned it for a little bit but then the trail goes cold. The DVLA website says it was last MoT’d in 2011, the last V5C was issued in 2011. There is an export marker on it as well so it’s currently overseas if it’s still around. Even finding out a bit more about this cars story would be nice. My mum has put in a V888 to see what info the dvla can give us. Is it worth doing a car vertical check to see if it picks up other information from the UK reg.
