About 10 miles into my journey this morning the car starting hesitating and spluttering and no fuel was getting through at all.

Turned the car off and left it for 30 secs then back on and all was well for another 5-10 miles then the same thing again. Seems to ggradually get worse then clear one I've turned the car off even if it only for 10 seconds or so. Its a 1.4 multipoint k-series engineI. presume its a fuel problem.

Does anyone have any ideas what exactly could be causing this?

many thanks in advance

I had a problem like this with my Westy it was simply a kink in the fuel pipe new piece of rubber pipe sorted it.

Im sure there are a number of reasons more mechanical than this that will be posted but it sounds identical to my problem.

Check the fuel filter(s) for crud. Also a leak in a flexible pipe on the "suck" side of a pump can cause this- lets air in. You'd soon know if it was a leak on the "blow" side !!!

It seems it was dodgy supermarket fuel, as it improved with time as I put more fuel in. Optimax from know on!
