Can anybody tell me about these cars? I'm thinking of getting one as a rebuild project.

Are there specific things I should check out apart from standard.

Do they handle well in standard form or really just a touring trolley?

I believe the early ones suffered from bump steer and no doubt scuttle shake as the chassis is pretty basic (no worse than a Morgan though). The Marlin roadster is much better as is the JBA SR.

Cheers.

There was one on ebay, but it got a bit pricey. Found an owners club website, quite a few RV8 cars.

I believe the "new" owners solved all those problems , they still have a lovely period car.

Hi,
Why, not buy the real thing. You can get a Morgan for £7000, or £4500 for a very, very rough one, but then you will have the real thing. I can't see why people pay £7-15k on a Hawk.

I believe Hawk are breaking the law in producing them as Morgan have a international copyright on the shape and the grill.
