VDO rev counter

i am near completion of an Mk indy with a pinto motor i have installed a vicky green wireing loom and have used a VDO rev counter can anybody give me the wiring for the three terminals as i dont want to damage it and have no instructions for the unit Thanks

Assuming you have same VDO cockpit vision tacho as me, connect coil to tacho terminal 4, ground to terminal 3, switched +12V from ignition to terminal 2.
The terminals are arranged
8-7-6-5
4-3-2-1
as you look at the back of the gauge.

Also have +12V switched from lights to both bulbs in instrument lights, other side of bulb to ground.
Check cylinder no. switches set for 4 cyl engine, ie all 3 off.
