The quote on the homepage

"I have long wondered what it would be like to own some of the machines that I keep reading about in magazines. What are they like in daily use, what's it like to take them to their limits? Eventually a time came when I decided to stop wondering and start doing...."

Have a look at the effort this guy has put into the design and manufacture of this thing. What an inspiration....

Coincidentally he will be in HK next week and I am gonna show him around.

If I was looking at buying Ultima USA I'd be hiring this guy!!!

Looking at a few of the other fotos, I think it looks like he's got an inboard suspension setup, with a single centrally located brake disc?! Interesting... but not supprising since he looks like a bit of a gokart man!!!

Crikey. I'm not into all-out racing stuff myself, but this bloke is definitely on to something. The engineering is very impressive, truly amazing.

He is planning on going into production..... he has had discussions with Brammo about it. Brammo are now making the Atom in USA... He's certainly put some thought into it hey!

The redesigned chassis, put some headlights on it and give it 2 seats, the guy might have a winner there, original yet possibly elegant design.

Some quality engineering there from the looks of the pics too!!

But surely, this doesn't really offer anything over a Radical SR3?

It's all theory until its tested but the design specs show it to be wider, shorter, a few hundred lbs lighter, potentially more power, and AWD. On paper it seems to run circles around the Radical.

Note that the design has the engine along side the driver where the passenger would normally be located. This is integral to the entire design of the car with the AWD layout. I guess you might stretch the chassis and put in a passenger seat behind the drivers seat?

I though the weight distribution was clever.... being a track car it doesn't really need a passenger seat so it seems quite the logical thing to do to lose it. Looks much smarter and better proportioned both aesthetically and from a weight distribution perspective than the Stohr cars from which he got much of his inspiration.

I thought I was big and clever taking on an Ultima, but in my opinion this guy is cleverer and bigger than me. (even if his car is smaller!). I think its f###ing great that this guy has put his thoughts and dreams into reality and hope that some of the technology in his design rubs off on the development teams of other kit car and low volume manufacturers.

i still think he will be hard pushed to beat the Radical SR8 as that thing has amazing arodynamics and a similer engine! still be nice to see radical have to up their game. but i think thye would just stick one of powertechs 420bhp (i think) 3.0 ltr V8 in there!

also, on the web site, he says about using belts! anyone like to coment on this?

Chris.

I have been following his progress for years now - it's great that he's kept the whole project going when so many people give up..! he's a real boys toys kind of guy - he's had so many 'weir' cars for the US - westfield, s1 elise...

i'd make sure you've read the design section of the website too - i found the progress of him learning to design to be really interesting..

Thought I would give this a bump as Dennis has been making progress, the prototype dp1 is running and he is using an Atom as the testbed for the V8 planned for the revised dp1.
