Had my first play in the Indyblade on Monday, Silverstone GP Circuit.

Only managed to get 1 lap on video (using bullet camera) because I kept catching the stop button on the camcorder when putting it away - doh! Concequently the following lap is exceedingly gay (was one of the earlier ones in the day) but it does show how good the camera is and what potential for footage there is when I get a better way of fixing the camcorder.

I like it. Looks like you had lots in reserve round those bends though. What bullet cam have you got? I'm aiming for something similar myself and have just ordered a vidcam with AV in. I was also pondering where to put the vidcam in my indyblade to keep it secure.

Yep plenty in reserve, was early in my first trackday so wanted to get a feel for the car. With it being wet too I didn't want to be a "wall statistic" like a couple of cars there that day!

Camera is from www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm (i got camera pack 3 since I use it for snowboarding too).

For the video camera, don't do like I did this time. I bolted a bag to the footplate in the passenger footwell but the stop button was too vulnerable. I'm still thinking of a way to mount the camera without using a bag but being sufficiently damped that the vibrations don't kill it!

I did Oulton in mine recently and played the same cautious game. Was my first day out in the thing too.

It looks a fairly narrow angle on that lens but ideal for the job. What's the FOV?

I think I had the 4.3mm lens on which in that case is 78 degrees. It's a wider angle than the camcorder.

If you have a Sony camcorder (or I think some Canon models) then get a CamEye Sport LANC controller from RF concepts. That way you can control the camera remotely and eliminate the problem of accidently turning it off.

I have a Canon, but sadly they don't do the LANC connection on the newer models

I see you're in Yorkshire so it may be a bit far but my next one will be April 15th at Anglesey. Can't wait
