Is there a company that anyone would recommend for inspections of potential kit car purchases? I contacted one of the best known kit car companies today for advice on a car that was ("in a hurry"and they were very disapointingly as much help as a bucket of Eventually they suggested the AA!!

Just have a look at enough so you can assess the build quality yourself. There's always a risk but if it looks straight and drives straight then it probably is straight. No worse than any other s/h car.

Alternatively, get involved in the owners club for your chosen make and convince someone to view with you. If it's a locost style, I bet there's a few on locostbuilders who would help as long as you don't want a guarantee!

I'm happy doing checks myself for general stuff, I'm thinking more along the lines of for instance; if I bought a Dax Rush or the like, how would I know if the components used were as recommended etc, as I wouldn't know the difference between a Ford Sierra brake disc and a Skoda one...................not sure if what I've said makes sense!
