Anyone know where I can source an exhaust for a 2.1l ohc Pinto for my Westfield SEi? It is an early model, and I think the engine was originally a Cortina. (OK, I admit, I did not build it myself!).

I am a little desparate, as the exhaust has blown just as it comes down outside the car and bends into the silencer (OK, so my depth of technical jargon is almost as shallow as my wit).

Not sure where to source out, but have managed to patch it with a H**F**Ds special, but need to get this sorted quickly.

Where in the UK are you, can put you onto a good exhaust fab place in the M1/M18 area., would a locost pinto exhaust fit, the locost is a very close "copy" of westfileds chassis dimensions ?

I am down in Berkshire, and the bummer is that this is my daily drive (aka only car) so I do need to try and find one.

Worth a wanted on locostbuilders as they a a close match chassis wise, loads a builders on there. Must be an active Westfiled forum you could try too, someone will have one lurking about doing nothing, you just need too find him.

Things are getting worse... Westfield thought they had one in stock, but were mistaken! Now it is undrivable, and could be a week before anyone gets any in stock.

I am going to have to resort to P**lic Tra***ort!

OK, so just when I thought things were going to be sane for a while...

... anyone know where I can get a silencer, preferably in stock. Custom Chrome say 10 days, not tried Simpsons yet, but could do with getting this fixed and me back on the road quietly as soon as.

TIA,
Fer

you could try car builder solutions.Have a look on www.nfauto.co.uk.I have one of their silencers and they are made by Powerspeed in Kent. You may need a link pipe made up to join it or JP exhausts in macclesfield.Send them a drawing of what you want and it shouldn't take more than a couple of days to get it.Very helpful.

Ok, possibly a dumb question, but any reason why I could not do something with www.jetex.co.uk/website/custom_parts.php?mat=Stainless&dia=2.0+inch and make my own, since everyone is quoting 2 weeks lead time at least!
