Hello all,

New to this forum, but i would like to introduce you to the DDR Motorsport kit car, the DDR SP4, its a full tubular chassis based on the popular Toyota MR-2 from 90-96 and we hope to offer the car worldwide and we plan to do a right hand drive model for the UK, Australia and Japan, if the market is there.

Please feel free to log onto our site* and read about it. If you happen to be in the US, the car will be at the Carlisle Show in Pennsylvania on May 19-21. Hope to see you there.

Thanks.

Whilst I appreciate that information about new marques in the Kit Car industry are always welcome here, please don't go overboard on advertising and promotion through the forums.

Please contact us if you want to formally advertise on this site.

I'm not sure 'cause I'm not a techie but....
I think the link to the DDR site is spawning unwanted webverts.

Apologies in advance if I'm wrong.
Car looks nice BTW, if you want to market in the UK, you'll need to make it SVA friendly, which I don't suppose would be worth the hassle.

I'm definately going to consider it. I think it is a little too racey (mainly the scoop, the side vents are a little sharp and not crash hot on the side skirts). The ultima body is smoother but I do prefer the look of this one (the mclaren style shape has gorgeous proportions). Don't get me wrong though, the car does look great it's just that every design tends to have some flaws.

Can't see the rear lights too well, I think some modern angel eye style LEDs would look great.

I guess there aren't any plans for a roadster version?

RHD version would be appreciated.

That looks incredible. i would buy one. That is the most exciting thing in this industry i have seen for a while, hope it goes as well as it looks. Is it MR2 turbo based?

No tubular chassis. It only uses parts of the car like drivetrain, suspension etc. They are also looking to do a v8 version that uses corvette suspension, engine and a porsche g50 transaxle.

Great looker - track car styling is flavour of the month at the moment but.....

the blocker to the UK market will be SVA necessary because of the chassis swap. Shame.

Not a blocker, most kits have to go through SVA. I think it is just because people associate the MR2 as a car for Ferrari rebodies so don't expect SVA, that's all.

Yup, Of course you're right - sorry, I didn't mean it was a show stopper, just meant the USA team behind this would need to seriously look at that implication to have a chance of selling any volume in the UK market I like the idea of a 'budget Ultima'
