I have been thinking about building myself a car, mainly for the track, sprints hillclimbs and trackdays etc. It would need to be road legal as well although not as a regular driver. My thoughts have centered around Ginetta G20, Raw Striker, Fisher Fury and Stuart Taylor Phoenix.
Despite having spoken at length to 1 of these at the Detling show recently and e-mailing the others for more detailed information than is available on their web sites I have not had replies from any of them.
With the recent sad demise of Luego, the Viento was also on my list, are all these manufacturers on a road to self destruction or are they so busy that they just havn't had time to reply ?
Peoples thoughts please on these cars/companies, have I caught them at a bad time and when I place my order am I likely to be resigned to poor levels of service and battling to get any reply ?

Welcome to the reality of national collapse!

I'm afraid it's a cynical, stereotypical, view. I know nothing about your particular details, but I hope it works out for you, and that you get an opportunity to spend your money as you wish.

Although many kit manufacturers have web sites, it does not mean that they are actually digitally enabled. Their skills are all to do wih making their cars, and for some the the 'e' in e-mail stamds for 'eventually' (that line originated from Gareth Cole).

In short, don't rely on email. They aren't ignoring you, they just don't understand the importance of it. Give them a ring.

I dont know exactly what your looking for but we have a body and chassis for immediate pickup. It was set aside for a race project but the person who was going to to build it and race it has had to withdraw due to family committments.

Its not a Seven Clone, but it is retro, have a look at the site and drop me a mail if your interested.

Cheers

Yes definitely ring them. I'm not sure they don't understand the importance of email though, I'm pretty sure some of them don't understand email at all

I know Tiger aren't on your list, but I have had excellent service from them during my build, always helpful, and one of the Tiger guys took me out in their demo car without being asked when I visited their factory. Excellent service and very nice people.

You can answer by telephone in seconds what it would take many people minutes to answer via e-mail.
Show some commitment and at least pay for a phone call. They may get many e-mails every day from people who are bored at work and have nothing better to do. At least if you ring and ask a question or go down a line of questioning that is not suitable for their product they can stop you as you talk and put the conversation back on track.
I am not even a manufacture and can lose half a day on the phone sometimes, if they'd all sent e-mails it would take me 2 days to get through them.
I think e-mail has its place:- Price lists, picture etc. but that is about it.

Just my opinion, as usual.

Good luck.

Yes emails can slip through. I run a business & use E mails a lot. But I get a load of rubbish - I mean a lot. So I often delete the genuine messages by mistake or simply miss them. Best to phone.

Can I add www.specialistsportscars.com/ to your list (the RT) as you have already listed Fury & Phoenix.

Good luck
