I have been thinking about building a kitcar for many years, now it looks like I have a chance to finally do it.
In Perth we have 2 companies selling Westfields, one is a locally produced kit, the other is genuine English kits. Both are quite expensive by UK standards for basic kits.
I have been looking at the prices of kits in English magazines, (much cheaper), was keen on the Robin Hood 'lightweight' because it was so cheap but have only heard bad things about RH cars.
Intend using the car as a weekend toy with some trackdays, but not planning serious competition.
Am now looking at alternatives from the budget end of the market; eg MK, Tiger, Dax, maybe even Sylva R1ot?

Importing a car to Australia is VERY hard for an individual, but I am assuming that a kit of parts is not treated as a car import, so I just pay the import duty. Any one confirm this? Or make any comment on my shortlist?

Some of the cheaper kits might need parts from donor vehicles which were not available in Australia, so I'd be looking for a kit that came with all the parts needed to finish the job.

Thanks to some great help from Darren of GTS tuning I'm making progress towards a decision...

What I really need is a dimensioned drawing of a 3rd gen (FD) RX7 enfine & gearbox. Anyone?
I will also ask in Japchat.
