....to pick up a decent V8 engined Cobra replica for less than £10k?
Don't see many about so maybe I need to try something else for my V8 fix, eh?

Well under!!
I have a Real Steel price list here. A ford V8 (which you have to have in a Cobra IMHO) is about £3,500 depeneding on the spec. Chevys are even cheaper.

I think the question is whether you can get a whole car for less than £10K, Gaz, not just the engine!

If the operative word is 'decent', then the answer is no.

You might get a very down-at-heel example, or perhaps a reasonable Rover engined Cobra from Pilgrim or one of the other less well regarded manufacturers, but 'decent' cars really start at the mid-teens upwards.

You might get lucky and find a desperate seller on Ebay or findit.co.uk, but don't hold your breath.
