GTM Ballista is there more news? more pictures?
Discussion
Hi, I was wondering if there is more news around the new GTM Ballista because I only see there website and some picture's from a show long time ago!
I like to see more interior pictures!
More exterior pictures!
Pictures with doors and hood open en the engine bay!
Also wondering is there already someone driving that car and how does it drive? is it realy that fast as they say, and how is it at high speeds? say 150 plus mph stabel??

GTRene,
I wouldn't hold your breath for it. I would not be surprised if the Ballista is not going to happen at all . The car that was displayed on the show looked very nice, but was not halfway being ready. The underpinnings were is a sorry state, the promised 6 cilinder engine was not in. I do honestly doubt if it had an engine in at all. Whatever was in the engine bay was covered by a blanket.
A set of bling wheels, a paintjob and some work on the interior (which could not be sampled by anyone, the doors stayed shut during the show. I wonder what bits were operational...) do not make a new car out of a cheapish bought abandoned project. The specs are not realistic in my opinion and nothing more than a wish i.s.o. something proven.
Bye,
Bertram

Had a good chat with the GTM guys at totalkitcar's Oulton Park do a few months back and the Ballista was still very much ongoing, though from what they told me virtually everything will be different to the unfinished prototype shown at the Autosport Show.
Here's hoping then
but "virtually everything will be different to the unfinished prototype shown at the show" why the lot of changes then, sure it will be in a good way
curious what the changes will be, maybe because of some critics they change a lot? Any news then when the "new" release will come? and will prices go up then?
Guess e have to wait and see...

No, but I'll see if I can get an update next week. Rest assured, when/if the car becomes a driveable reality I'll be testing it for PH.
Ok Graham, I wait for that testdrive to come then
and I'm looking forward to read the verdict and see the driveble version, hope it is as fast as they aim for
and also good driveble at high Autobhan speeds. thanks

Just had a chat with the project engineer in charge of the Ballista. The car shown at Autosport Show was basically put together in about 2 weeks to take advantage of a display opportunity.
After that GTM took a good look at what they'd got from Larini and decided to start from scratch. So the project is still very much ongoing but GTM don't expect to have a running prototype of the 'real Ballista' for another year.
When they do, expect to see the world's first road test report here on PH.

Does it mean that they will be redesigning it ? well, I guess it does need a styling update........

Thanks Graham, so we have to wait another year
thats not the news I was hoping for, but I bet they will change it in an even better way and also hope they can keep the weight low and also the price, though I hear it rise already...? We'll wait and see what the new ballista can do and the new specs are, and then what the first real roadtest can do to a petrolhead
thanks for the info.
