BEC reverse gear options???....
Discussion
I am considering building a 7 type bike engined car, and want to know my options with regard to reverse gear, I have heard the little gearboxes that can be fitted between the prop-shaft are a bit crappy and dont last too long.....are the electric reverse systems worth the hassle or any good?.......surely someone now makes a good quality durable reverse gear-box that can live for a sensible amount of time???......
The quaife reverse box is very good, adds a little extra to the clonking and the oil seals used to be dodgy but mine has now been fine for a year. Works fine with turbo Hayabusa engines 300 odd bhp. Would recommend it.
Not had electric reverse but heard good things about them too.
Best recommendation is none - less weight, less cost, less to go wrong . . .
