It looks as if it could be a Westfield SEiW

Mind you, the Rover engine would be a bit unusual but common in Caterhams. On the other hand, Caterhams don't have IRS. I'll look at my Westfield build manual and report back.

The front wishbones are too short and thick and some of the side tubes are round section whereas they're square section on Westfields.

Dunno really, sorry....

Its not a Westie or an MK Indy by the look of it, but its most likely another Locost inspired IRS car from somewhere like Stuart Taylor, MNR, Luego etc. It could even be a home built Locost wth an IRS back end.

Thanks guys, it looks factory made, and the chassis is powder coated. I've asked the simular question on the locost website.

Any idea what it's worth as I'm looking to sell it.

Do you think ebay is the best place for the highest price?

Not much Im afraid if we're talking about everything we see in the photos excluding the trailer, £600 at a guess. To get the best price you'd might be best selling the chassis with wishbones etc together, then sell the dampers, diff and engine seperately.

How much did you pay for the trailer BTW, cos I have one the same?

Is there a reason you can't ask the guy you got it from . . . is it stolen?

I don't believe it to be a westfield. They don't use that type of steering column. Also the rear IRS is wrong. The earlier cars that had drums, used alloy uprights. The bar that the dash fits onto is angular and westfields are rolled bar at the ends.If it was a westfield,it would have a long chassis number on the diagonal short piece on the passenger side near the engine or across the strut at the same height of the crank pulley in front of the engine. This one was a welded plate, the other is a punched in the tube number.

I agree. I have had my Westfield's nosecone off this afternoon (SEiW '94 chassis No.) and there are clear differences in the nose area. In fact it might not even be a seven style car at all. There's little ahead of the steering rack to support a nosecone.
