Has anybody on here got a lightweight through SVA ? If VOSA are backing the local inspector then every car not yet SVA'd may need a modification.

I have heard from an "insider" that something may be afoot, but it's a case of watch this space......scratchchin

If considering a new RH, it may be prudent to hang fire for a week or so till a clearer picture emerges.....

Interesting post at http://community.rhocar.org/index.php if you ignore the back stabbing.

Their web page has been down for far too long now (over a week?). It must be costing them a serious amount of business as they seem to have a poor reputation for answering the phone anyway, if you read the Rhocar threads

I think your find there has been some issues on a recent lightweight car that was failed the SVA due to 'unsafe structures' amounting to the suspension and chassis.Doesn't sound too good and the company has gone very quiet......

So it is rumoured that they have gone into adiminstration now and the website is suspended again.

I have also heard Tiger have shut their London showroom?

Are any of the other copy manufacturers in trouble? Westfield, Dax etc?

How big was the deposit ?

To be clear, I have no reason to suspect or suggest that DAX are in any kind of trouble. It's just that we often hear of all sorts of companies (from furniture stores, to kitchen installers, to landscapers . . .) going belly-up after taking substantial deposits.

Only small - £300 I think - he got a really good deal as they were doing a special offer in August so he ordered it when we was at the Track Day at Snetterton

May be just my suspicious mind at work, but do you work for Dax by any chance Jax? First ever post is something to do with it and the "really good deal" etc.

I also have no reason to believe they are in trouble, but with two others seemingly not in the best of health I wondered if there were any other rumours flying around. I guess one of the problems some of the smaller players have is that they haven't developed their cars for export and so a recession in the UK market means their orders crash.

Of all the kit manufacturers Westfield and Dax are in the top 10 for profitability along with Ultima, Caterham etc. Just visit them to see how well they are doing. (No connection other than happy customer.)

Lets not speculate about other smaller companies, you'll never really know the full situation.

Check her surname . . . might be a clue, might be a coincidence

If it is, welcome to PH
