Hi all

Finally got my Cobra finished last week, had MOT today, thought all was fine!
until journey home! Engine overheated 3 time on way back (10miles)
Its a Chevy v8 5.7lt
Does anyone know of anyone who can look at it and see if its worth saving or scrapping or anything! I live in Havant which is near Portsmouth.

and....to make things worse, my SVA date was all booked for next thursday......so close!

Had further thoughts on your problem after stopping to meet you.
You have assumed the engine was working fine in it's previous engine bay and this is probably true. Have you made sure that the header tank is a good inch or two above the top of the engine and that any high point on the engine has a way of venting any air lock back to the header. I'm thinking the header in your install was a little too low.

I'd wager on the air-lock myself...

When we first built the new 383 it would cook it's nuts off every time we started it... after some careful filling we managed to sort things..
