Not being a member of that forum, I can't post a reply on it, but if someone wants to do the honours for me....

----

If the finger of suspicion is pointing at the guy selling parts on eBay, then place a bid on an item, then you are in a position of a potential contract, and can use one of the online eBay tools to request the formal name, address, and contact details of the seller.

Either look into it yourselves, or pass the details and suspicions onto BiB.

Must have been A. Someone who is pretty clued up about these type of vehicles and possibly even this ACTUALL vehicle and B. A prize Pr69k if they are advertising the parts on somewhere like ebay. My Ultima is due to hit the streets next year and I don't really worry about it being stolen as it is so high profile and many parts bespoke but I guess this situation is a lesson to use all, thieves are not intelligent or rational beings. Good luck with apprehending this vile and lowly perpetrator.

I had a VERY bespoke modified mini, which was stolen back in dec 99.

It was know in all the circles and was on the minispares stand at the 40th birthday bash at Silverstone.

My friend worked for Miniworld and put the word out to the main garages etc. Everyone knew my mini, and ALL said it was stolen to order, and was either in Germany or Japan.

At the end of the day, if someone wants your car, it will be stolen. There is nothing you can do to completely stop them.

Its a sad fact that even if you were to defend your property it would probably cause more trouble then its worth, and thats if you did inflict preventative injurys on the scrotes.

I wouldnt be surprised if 'they' just said that to throw you off the scent!
