Pickud up my Westfield today
Discussion
Hi,
Thanks for the good words and congratulations!
The spec of the car is:
• 2.0 Ford Zetec 16v engine (Silver Top)
• Twin Webber DCOE 40’s
• Ford MT75 5 speed gearbox & Westfield MT75 quick shift
• Rial 15” rims fitted with Goodyear Eagle NCT S 195/50/15 tyres
• Full set of VDO gauges (Tacho, Speedo, Fuel level, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature)
• Westfield Zetec exhaust manifold & silencer
• 3 point inertia reel seatbelts.
Plans for upgrading are:
New Carpets (old green ones have faded really badly)
RAC spec roll bar
4 point harnesses
Reconnect the heater (cos I will be driving it all year round!)
Some carbon bits and pieces including custom boot box cover, and stone guards
That should take me through to the spring!
Phil

Have fun, and ignore all the comments about winter. Real men (and us mad wusses) drive 'em all year round!
My thoughts exactly. Theres nothing like going out for a run on a cold, frosty morning.
Get yourself along to one of the monthly area meetings. You'll meet plenty of other like minded fools
Congrats. Im thinking of buying one around feb next year. Whats peoples opinions on "Q" plate ones? Im being tempted by a factory built one just for peace of mind that its been put together without cutting any corners, also whats insurance like on one of these?
That roof doesnt look the worlds best fit. Is the weather gear good enough to use the car in the rain (not deliberatly, but say if you got caught in the rain while out somewhere?)
Again congrats on the purchase

Should make no difference, but I built mine Tiger so no problems getting a age reg plate. its easy when building one. otherwise just get a good one and have fun

TBH, they wouldnt get through the SVA if any corners had been cut

Insurance is normally quite cheap. Usually around £200. Unfortunalty, because im 22 its about £800!

[/quote] I'm 29 and it costs me £215 fully comp, limited miles 3000 per year. Have done 1500 of those miles since Le Man this year
Your right - well spotted! It is Dan's old car.
I'm based near Malmesbury, so will be joining the Bath and Bristol branch of the WSCC.
Maybe see you around Barry as we aren't that far apart?
Cheers
Phil
PS. Beautiful Westfield you have there! Looks fantastic and I bet it goes rather well!
