Sorry for this post. Very un PH like I know but it is an issue.

What I want to know is the different between fuel economy with Bike Engined V A modern Duratec engine in a seven type car, probably going to be a Tiger or another Westfield.

Cheers

Never really worked it out but at a guess around 35mpg out of my locoblade when driving sensibly.

So the reallity is more like 20mpg

My Zetec six managed to empty a completely full tank in 24 miles on the rolling road, so I would guess economy is not that good when being thrashed...

On a steady motorway cruise from Essex -> Yorkshire I measured my fireblade engined car at about 33mpg. When booting it expect exponentially less!

I have never given mpg a thought when out in a BEC, its the soundtrack I like.

I'm generally knackered after 10-11 laps so use re-fuelling as an excuse to head to the pits for a Crown Cola hehe

On the road my 'busa powered XTR2 is more thirsty than my Scooby STi yikes but I've never tried an economy run temptation gets the better of me every time driving

Not a Duratec but as a rough guide my 210bhp Vx has returned up to 38mpg on a 'gentle' run, but probably around 12mpg on track evil

Nice one guys. So to sum it up BEC's and the modern Duratecs etc... can achieve decent (30mpg) fuel economy figures if driven sensibly.

However if such a car is to be driven like this you will be banished from PH's forever Oh and when I take my BEC on a track day I will need to refuel several times.

Nice.

It's not that bad. I recently did a trackday with three of us sharing my blade engined car, and it was thrashed mercilessly for hours. We managed to slurp up about 60 litres of fuel, so that's two refuelling sessions.
