It kinda looks like a modern mid-engine Jester, what do you all think:

Would also question the torsional rigidity looking at the shape.

Without wanting to sound harsh, I'd also question if the design was done in a special edition of CAD using a white stick and braille keyboard. That is, IMO, one very ugly car. Sorry to the person who's P&J it is!
and I like short overhangs...but those looks...nope. Oh dear. That is the Automotive equivalent of Peter Beardsley. Again comes my usual quote, it costs no more to design a beautiful car than an ugly one, its just talent. The windscreen gives the impression that its been lifted from a Ford Transit. Whoever designs these cars obviously have immense talent, but its as if the styling is secondary and they assume people will buy the cars purely because they are fast. We all know most people buy normal cars on how they look, kit cars are somewhat an exception, but still they need to look good. The Aeon is a great example of getting it nearly right, when my car was at Aeon I was nearly tempted but I just couldnt look out of my window and see that every day. I think John Hewitt has the talent to tidy up its looks, as it is a genuinly capable car and worthy. But I think the MEV is too wrong visually.
I think it looks a lot better in reality than in the photos (and I took those pics so I can say what I like about them ). On the road, you get a much better impression of its size and it looks less 'fun car'. In that kinda situation, it's not really comparible to a Sylva Jester.

The rear view reminds you of the Jester, but also the step-in doors and the rollbar setup..... maybe with a few design tweeks, it isn't that bad.
I think it does have potential as a concept, but why not get rid of the body and create a new 3 seater Atom?
It would be unique and really different......and a V6 engine in such a light weight body, could be really frightening...

I just got back from Earls Court today and the car looks fantastic, they allowed me to sit in it and i feel the driving position is brillient and i am 6ft3", i found the staff friendly and polite and i have left a deposit with salesman today i have been waiting for something like this to come along for a long time, something different!

on the pictures its not my style(except for the L&RHD and that engine and short overhangs) I think it drives almost like a big kart...what color did you choose or go for? GTRene
I too saw this car at the NEC MPH and just loved it! The guys at MEV have had the balls to create something different in the Kit Car world and not go for another Cobra or Seven clone. They are genuine enthusiasts who have created a car from the ground up, using a single donor vehicle that has a power to weight ratio that is (virtually) second to none.
Give me originality and innovation over seven clones any day, this is what the industry needs, something that is different and IMO it gets top marks for both looks and design. Credit where it's due guys, it's looks a quality item at a bargain price.

i could not agree more i really belive we have to much of the same old same old coming out today i believe our generation is about taking bigger steps how else will we ever move foward, as for your comments on the look not being your style of choice i can understand that as i am sure all you see everyday is a cobra after cobra i think haveing more of an open mind is key
