Guys im trying to find out who makes/what was a car at the stoneliegh kit car show this year?

It was a very modern styled car with i think a s2000 engine in the rear? the interiour looked very good almost production! It had a bit of a hot rod feel to it? No roof.. didnt appear even to have a convertible possible? it had a space frame chassis which was clearly visible in the rear?

It was right near the 'which kit' stand, near a red gt40 and the ultima stand?

any ideas?! please!!!

There is a UK agent. However, from my dealings with them trying to arrange to test the car for PistonHeads - i.e. lots of initial promises then not returning my calls (because all you ever get now is an answering machine) - I simply wouldn't risk my money. Pity because it's a great looking car.

Agree with Graham.

I was waiting on his write up to see how it handled and so on to see if it was as good as it looked, but the lack of progress from them has really put me off. And I've not really heard any reason for it either - there were rumours about SVA regs being hard to meet with the design, but that was a looong time ago.

However, I think a UK one with top-spec and good drive chain would finish up being about 30,000 GBP, so not all that cheap though it would look very nice.
I agree it's a pity it's not got further as I'd be really interested in building one - especially if 750MC (et al) would allow it to run in one of their series

ETA - there are a few that have been built in the US, and at least one dedicated forum, if you google around for the K1 Attack then you'll most likely find it.

ETA2 - the UK distr is dynamic performance but their site is very out of date.
Also out there is at least one active board: clicky

ETA3 - Hmmm, looks like K2 are now doing them?!?!?!? www.k2carriagecompany.co.uk/cgi-bin/k1/home.pl

ETA4 - After going through their site, it looks like these were the guys at the Stoneleigh show.

Thanks thats great info..
Thats IS the car i saw at stoneliegh, it even says it on the 'our build' pages.

the interiour shots are on there too. It looks like k2 are just selling them built? I wonder if they are importing them in themselves?

Shame, is fantastic looking car that.

Yeah, I think K2 are building them to customer spec, and acting as dealer for dynamic performance, so D-P are still the UK importer & supplier of the kits.

I sent off an email earlier and had a confirmation email sent to me, so it looks like at least they have the basics of their 'net presence sorted. Maybe they'll get back to me in a few days.

I asked about having a brand spanking new K20A2 engine (Honda Integra Type R engine, 2 liter 4 pot 220bhp when NA) with supercharger system (circa 300bhp) - an extra 7 grand for parts and chassis modifications, plus bigger brake kit (for the extra power), but none of the shinny stuff under the hood. They seem to do a lot of shinny metal stuff for under the hood too, and a custom dash unit (in the pics on the forum linked above as clicky) - looks very good. Then again, I don't have about 40k to stick on a new car (damn mortgages! )
But if I win the lottery my name would be down for one straight after the house and a Dare G4 were paid for

Slightly miffed it only takes a 4 pot, but they can do wonders with intakes and exhuasts these days to make them sound a bit better

K1 sell (or were planning to) fully built production versions with the Duratec V6, but I think they were wanting about £50,000 for them, which is far too much.

50 grand is way too much for that car.
If they had marketed more like Noble, then maybe, but for a kit car that's just madness.
And I bet K2 would charge a fair whack more for it, maybe that's why they don't list it as an option.

Holy Moley! They've replied already!!! A small car company that knows e-presence is important!

Anyways, for the spec I asked for it'll be about £45,000+VAT. The car they are building now will be sold in January to make way for a new demo car (I get the feeling they have built this car to make sure they know what they are doing and what it will actually cost to do them etc) for £59925 all in, on the road.

That 60 grand! And it has a 4-pot drive chain! I know it will be fully loaded and a very very good example with high build quality, but I think that may be a bit high.

Good luck to them though, and if I did have 60 grand burning a hole in my pocket... I'd seriously think about getting one, then pay off a chunck of my mortgage, get a fully loaded Dare G4 and buy the plot of land next to my house!

Still some people have that kind of cash to spend on a car, and I have a feeling these will be very rare cars.

60K yikes to much for me...when I've had 60K to spend I would shop elsewhere...

Anyway, I like the DARE G4 there are some for sale for nice prices...
but I'm looking and waiting to see what the "new" G12 will be like...its a bit more expensive then a G4 but also a bit more different exclusive and lovely me thinks...
still I did not get anny reply from my letter to DARE with some quistions about those cars...

I looked into building a couple of years ago. Endless delays and BS put me off - has anyone actually got a kit in the UK??. You can also buy a new Elise for about what it would actually cost to build one to a decent spec.

Sorry to be negative but 60 grand?? That's double the price of a Javan R1. How about a new Corvette Z06, record-breaking spec Ultima, or a Tesla next year to be different?. That's serious money.

It is utterly rediculous money I think.

Fiar enough, if they were offering a larger engined true "supercar" it would be cheap, but look at what else you can get for £60k and basically they are chewing off the wrong end of the stick. They either needed to go all out for a luxury high performance car, or mayeb go even further with the price and hit some silly targets with specialist exotica.

As it is they have an admittedly beautiful car, but underneath it is STILL a parts bin of old Honda bits, a cheap and reliable 4 pot engine and very little in terms of developed creature comforts (the wet weather gear is most definitely and afterthought for example)

Yeah, I got an email from them when their top was developed!
I'll wait to see what K2 make of them and see if they let GB test one for our reading pleasure

I guess you could try to get all the donar parts for 6k, but there's a lot of bits you need from a lot of different cars, and some of them are quite pricy bits of quite pricy cars.
