Another track racer taking design inspiration from the Atom...maybe a little too far...
www.mevltd.co.uk/rocketad.htm
And so a plethora of Atom clones rise up and some of them may even survive and do well.
It's almost like history repeating itself, what with these Locost thingies copying Caterham a few years back.
I'm interested to see how many of these open framed cars make production, and how many potential customers express an interest "once you've got a full body for it". Let's face it, no-one wants to get their legs soaked by the water coming off their own front wheels...
Being constructive for a moment, this one looks slightly better proportioned and attractive than some that've been recently posted up here.

I spoke to Stuart Mills at the Exeter show a few weeks back.
He was saying just how sick he was of the kit car industry just producing '7' style cars. I got talking to him about the Mev whilst I was there. I liked the idea of the car, but it's not for me.
As you wasy, there is a move towards these exoskelton type cars.
We also have http://sdrsportscars.co.uk/ who are producing a 3 seater, very much in the vein of the Aeon.
I do wonder where the kit car market will head over the next few years, and its looking like more track focused cars seem to be the way forward.

I totally agree with you, there is a shift to this type of design, and if you can come up with a competitive price, then most of these cars will survive and become the new Seven for the 21st century.
I've always liked the concept, and this will be a good niche for many kitcar manufacturers, if they intend to survive in the future.
I've been looking at the new Rispeed Exasis concept, and they are showing a similar concept, with see through coloured polycarbonate panels.

I guess these can be used in these type of cars .

Very nice Italo, but I do think it need some protecting plates where normaly the doors are cause this way dust, stones, water can come in the cabin and seats I'm afraid...so a thin sheet that covers the tubes gives it also
a better CW drag?...

a better CW drag?...

If I 'read' Italo's sketch correctly it already looks like there is a transparent panel in the 'door' area. I like it.

Correct....and if you want to change the colour of the sheet, when you scratch the old one, you can do so.
Makrolon now manufactures coloured polycarbonate sheets, any colour you want, orange, yellow ,green, blue nad so on.

You do need your shorts on.....

... another winning design by Italo! When will kit car manufacturers understand they need talented designer? When will they understand a good design will sell (more) cars?
Italo ... did some kit car manufacturers ask you to work on their cars since you post nice sketches on this forum?

About time your talents reaped some just reward Italo. Just hope the finished article - whatever it is - does your design justice.
