Discussion
The threat of litigation hangs over anyone that sells replicas. Some people have had a go at an F1 rep but they've either been stamped on or they've just been utter pants. The only one to my knowledge to actually make it to market is a US-produced kit that uses MR2 running gear inside a spaceframe chassis. The body's more 'inspired by' the F1 rather than a straight copy - the differences are presumably enough to keep the lawyers at bay.

I like that.
Although I sort of wish it looked a bit less like the F1.
Nice proportions, well made by the look of it, but never going to fool anyone who's remotely interested in what car you drive.
Seems a shame to me that all the effort that goes into these reps can't be channelled into, for talking's sake, updating the design to reflect current design trends.
It's not like the moulds have been taken directly from an original, so instead of the focus being on copying as closely as you dare, focus instead on sharpening and creasing the edges, modernise the light aperture shapes, stylise the door apertures, so it looks like the natural evolution of the design not a lookalike of a 15 year old car.
A modern interpretation of an F1 would hold its head up on merit - wouldn't it?

There are two kit cars with 3 seats available in the UK (with a third being designed).
Available:
www.aeonsportscars.com/ or www.aeonownersclub.com/ for more pictures of completed ones
www.mevltd.co.uk/R3%20Gallery.htm
In design:

However, none look like the F1.
Steering racks are not a problem (Aeon get theirs made for them).

That one is road legal - here's a picture of it at the Nurburgring.
Most of the Aeons are road legal - www.aeonownersclub.com/cars.php
RazMan's the most different one so far:

Thanks Jason,
Thats realy nice, the Nurburgring car looks like a single seater but you can get them as a 3 seater?
that blue one is also strange but nice
, also the door opening
first open the roofwindow then the door, thats a strange combo but all in all looks like a fine track road car to me.

GTRene: Most are 3 seaters - the exceptions are RazMan's GT2 (the blue one), and Scott Nicholson's coupé (which is mainly single seater).
It's just that most of them have very low passenger seats, so you can't see them (most people I've shown pictures to think they're single seater).
This is mine in the middle of being built (actually, it's still being built):
However, I've got some new seats now (but I haven't uploaded the pictures yet).
Edited to add: Here's a better picture of the seat arrangement:
