1000cc v-twin. Bags of torque, monstrous sound...

Friend of mine who used to race Aprilias has an RSV-R engine sitting doing nothing in the back of his shop. As the engine on mine is running perfectly, can anyone else use it?

996cc 2002 Aprilia RSV-R engine. Tuned heads, nothing else. Run for around 50 miles, 2 rounds at Snetterton and Oulton (won both rounds). Excellent condition.

It owes him around £1500, but offers around £800 will only see him weeping for a week.

Be a good motor for a kit, but the Rsv is always horrendously noisy, in comparison with other v twins.Dont know if its down to the v angle or what.

Even a stock Rsv is loud.

I bought one just a couple of months ago for a single-seater project I'm working on. Paid a couple of hundred pounds more than that, from a specialist bike breaker, including all ancillaries, ecu, etc., so that's a pretty good price!

Lovely engine - 65kg., magnesium castings, 133bhp out of the box and dry sumped as standard.

If anyone fancies a superior chassis to put it in, I might be persuaded to do a short production run!

What kind of coupling can be used on these things?

e.g. Could I get a clutch for the flywheel into a small, cheap gearbox?

Gah! Waht am I thinking? I can't afford to get an engine this month!

All you need is a machined sprocket adaptor, turn the engine side one, bolt the prop onto where the original sprocket wwnt, and Bob is your mothers brother.No need for seperate gearboxes...........

Would work a treat in your project I reckon....

Iv thought. I could probably spend half the money on training & end up going a lot faster with the standard engine than I could with the replacment.

I will need to cut down my biking, as I seem to be going deaf. Better get the kit car out this spring instead.

Oh well worth a thought tho.

Easier than I expected, but I really don't have the funds (as in zero spare cash ) (no Randle, not even to make a silly offer, sorry )

Definatly time for another shoot - I went to Clive's a couple of weeks ago, and we're back there this Saturday. That's why I have no money, I just bought a new gun (and carpets)
