I am in the process of fitting a replacement engine to my Vindicator Sprint. This is a pinto, which came with 2 weber 45 carbs, (nice you are thinking). BUT there is a problem, the position of the engine means that with the supplied inlet manifold the carbs will not fit, the engine is too low and far back into the car, (both good things from a handling point of view). Ideally I need a longer, swan necked/S shaped manifold to lift the carbs above the structural member that is currently blocking them. I don't think spacing the engine up on the engine mounts is going to be enough to give sufficient clearance. So , does anyone know if such a manifold exists, and can anyone help me source one?

Thanks in advance.

Would mounting the carbs nearer to the engine solve the problem? You can get a manifold to fit twin DCOEs to a Pinto that's only around 25 - 30mm between faces.

Thought of that one, and unfortunately no, the front one would probably be ok, but not the back one.
