Hello

I'm looking for a rolling road and someone who could finish mapping my engine near Oxford.
The VVC failed during mapping so it could not be finished by Dave at Emerald and I don't have the time for going back to Watton.

Who could recomend someone around Oxford?

Cheers

Jack

Not making any comment about the suggestion as I have no knowledge of them....

...but why not ask Dave for his recommendation?

A lot of guys in my race series highly recommend Owen's, but not had experience personally.

For info these are guys with class/race winning cars.

Is Reading any good? A friend is putting an Emerald on his car at present and doesn't want to have to take it to Watton (for assorted reasons of logistics). Think he's nuts myself...but I can understand his reasons I guess.

Anyhoo....I can find out the place if Reading would do for you. This was an RR recommended by DW. They specialise in VW IIRC but are happy to do anything with an Emerald on it I understand.

..but...I'll return to my first response - ask DW would be my first step if you can't take it to the man himself.

probably this lot ...

They are actually located inside the Transport Reseach Labs centre @ Crowthorne which is just south of Bracknell, not far from Reading and the M4.

I remember them from my Golf GTI days, seem to remember they are good if a bit expensive, but if you don't ask the question .....

I think there's a place in Chipping Norton that does Emeralds - vaguely remember the question being asked on another forum a few years back. Would definitely ring Emerald and ask them for a recommendation - think that's what the guy did back then.

The rolling road in chipping norton was recommended to us by Dave at emerald, my car is going in there at the end of May. Which was the earlisest they can do it.

Cheers

Could I ask, what's the place in Chipping Norton please? I'll still go to Watton myself, despite only being about 20 miles from CN, but you never know when someone might ask for an alternative.

FWIW, I think a long waiting list is probably a good sign. Got to be slightly worried about a place that can 'fit you in' at a moments notice.

Thanks for the info

I've been talking to a friend and he is taking his 7 to Northampton Motorsport.
Never heard about them before, any feedback would be great

Cheers

Consensus here seems to be good but pricey...
