Hello all,

My lad (aged 9) has seen off road buggies/grass-track machines and is pestering me to build one (with his help). Now I'm not one to crumble to kids whims quickly but six months on he's still keen. He's had a quad for years and is very capable on it so maybe if I indulged him now with some time and effort he might really get into it and take it further. Trouble is I've got the space, the tools, the enthusiasm and probably enough knowledge but I haven't a clue what to buy.
I've looked after my own cars, bikes and other machinery for years but never built a kit, so any pointers would much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Tony

look up autograss racing NASA check out the single seater specials, something along those lines build wise would fit the bill, just don't fit 2 x busa engines just yet........

If you can weld then it will be a fun project, I've built several grass track single seaters but moved onto tarmac these days, less dirt and believe it or not less money too.

From what i've read rorty's plans (www.rorty-design.com/content/CAD_plans.htm) are supposed to be pretty good. Do some googling to see if they're worth the money though.
