advertised in the PH classifeds? It's the yellow 1.4 that is up for £5,950, which sounds reasonable even if it is "only" a 1.4.

I am assuming that the reg belonged to the original donor vehicle. The photos don't really give a lot away but, I am intrigued enough to go and have a quick butchers at it.

I would appreciate any info anyone would have on this car.

Many thanks,

EE

Edited to say that I know a little bit about the Libra, in general. I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about that particular vehicle.

The reg plate shouldn't be that of the donor car, but one of the same age. The donor plate should get scrapped when you register the new kit car.

Don't know that particular car, no.
Bear in mind that 1.4s can be converted to 1.8 relatively easily.

A friend of mine sold his 1.4 for £4000 a month ago....

Is that always the case? I could be wrong but........I thought that if you could prove that a certain number of major components came from the same donor car then you could have the reg of that donor vehicle, instead of getting a Q-plate. In order to get a brand new reg, you need to prove that you built the car using new parts. I could be wrong, though.

Edited to say that I have just understood what you mean. Yes, you are correct, the original reg gets scrapped, you get a "new" reg of the same vintage. Sorry, did not sleep well last night and I am feeling drowsy.

Good point that, the 1.4, 1.6 and the 1.8 are all the same size, externally. Same mounts and all that, so a straight swap.

Would you say that £5,950 is a bit steep? How did your mates car compare to this one?

I wouldn't like to say, to be honest. Libra prices do vary a lot, but 1.4s aren't particularly sought after.
The pictures and info are a bit sparse, but his car was quite tidy and he'd just redone the interior in carbon fibre and alcantara.

edna you only retain the original pate if you use the chassis or floorpan of the donor vehicle unaltered.

That ad does say the car needs some attention, bare in mind people have different levels of "attention" - might just need a quick dust smile

......or not.
